Tonight's ThinkSoJoe Show to focus on politics

Unknown     November 02, 2016
The ThinkSoJoe Show, airing at 6 p.m. Wednesdays on All WNY Radio, will focus tonight's show on politics and music's role in the political system.

Hosts ThinkSoJoe and Muller had put out a call for Western New York artists with politically themed songs for tonight's playlist. Their search resulted in tonight's "politically charged" playlist including songs from Twin Lions, Ghostfeeder, Apex Down and Matt Garcia.

"We will also be talking about local and national politics and how you feel about artists voicing their opinions on the issue," Muller said via his Facebook page. "You will not want to miss this special episode hosted by me and ThinkSoJoE."

The ThinkSoJoe Show airs live on AllWNYRadio.com, as well as on TuneIn and the All WNY News & Radio app for Android. It can also be heard live on Amazon Alexa-enabled devices by saying, "Alexa, listen to All W.N.Y. Radio on TuneIn." At the conclusion of each show, the audio is archived on the All WNY Radio Podcast and made available for listening or download on AllWNYRadio.com and AllWNYNews.com.

HEaRD in WNY: Top shows for the week of Oct. 31 - Nov. 6

Unknown     October 31, 2016
This week's can't-miss event is Jimmy & Ballzy's Wedding Reception.

You may know Ballzy as the girl who may have kicked you out of her house if you were being dumb at Northrup. Or you may know her as the lady who kicked you out of Mohawk Place for being dumb. Or, you may know her as the awesome rocker chick that has been supporting the local music scene her entire life. Alaysa Dale, the current head of security at Mohawk Place, is a friend to everyone who loves to rock out (and can follow the rules) & her band Nine Layers Deep, which also features her to-be husband Jimmy McFarland, will be performing alongside Ish Kabibble, Chloroform, Dudes, and Dead Lounge for their wedding reception on Saturday starting at 8:00 p.m. Come celebrate some killer people getting hitched with some killer local bands at Buffalo's home for punk rock, Mohawk Place.

HEaRD in WNY: Top shows for the week of Oct. 24 - 30

Unknown     October 24, 2016
This week's featured show is The Rabies Reunion: 10 p.m. Saturday at Nietzsche's.

Come celebrate Halloween with the 5-year reunion of Buffalo's quintesential horror punk act, The Rabies at Nietzsche's on Saturday, October 29th!

The sweet and syrupy powerful vocals of Lexi Lawsuit (often compared to Siouxsie Sioux), combined with catchy yet haunting guitar melodies, spooky keyboards, and the steady throbbing rhythmic percussion...it's horror pop cabaret that packs a punch.

The Rabies emerged back in 2003 and quickly grew in popularity, touring around the U.S. and performing alongside acts such as The Buzzcocks, Billy Talent, The Dickies, Wilco, and many more. They also played on Vans Warped Tour and performed live on Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider's radio show.

Emerging from the dead, they will be joined by fitting support acts The Irving Klaws and The Stripteasers starting at 10 p.m, and there's only a $5 cover!

Tickets still available for tonight's Sheepdogs show at Town Ballroom

Unknown     October 22, 2016
BUFFALO -- Canadian rock band the Sheepdogs will make a Queen City appearance tonight at Town Ballroom -- and there's still tickets remaining.

The band, which formed a decade ago in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is comprised of lead singer and guitarist Ewan Currie, his brother Shamus Currie on trombone, keyboard and tambourine, bass guitarist Ryan Gullen, drummer Sam Corbett, and guitarist Jimmy Bowskill.

The band describes itself as "pure, simple, good-time music" with their most recognizable song, "I Don't Know" sounding almost like Southern Rock. In fact, Currie often credits groups Sly and the Family Stone, Humble Pie, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and The Allman Brothers Band as influences on his style.

Tickets to tonight's show start at just $17. They're available online.
