The featured event for the week is Sunday's Justin Mauk Memorial and Benefit at the Mohawk.
Justin Mauk was a friend to the Buffalo Music Scene, and on Sunday, a memorial concert is being held in his honor to raise funds for his wife and new baby. Although I didn't know him personally I love seeing the community come together for a great cause, especially to honor one of our own. The local music scene is expansive, but as soon as tragedy strikes someone involved, there is quickly a response from all over to offer help.
Crippled Mess, Kennedy Carpool, From The Ashes, The Tosspots, Radical Operations, Grain Assault, On Point, Good Dude, Jay Carver, The Taken, and The Card Cheats are all getting together at Mohawk Place for a "kick ass Matinee show for Justin!"
Doors open at 3 p.m. and the music starts at 4 p.m. A $5 donation at the door is all that's needed to help out. Baby supplies other other donations will also be accepted at the event and given to the Mauk Family.
